The second season of "Daredevil: Born Again" is set to introduce a new adversary for Wilson Fisk, played by Vincent D’Onofrio, as Matthew Lillard joins the cast in a mysterious role. Lillard, who serves as the dungeon master for the group, was brought into the series by Scardapane to portray a character who is more of a "CIA spook" than a street-level criminal.

Mr. Charles is depicted as someone who "controls power from afar," using intelligence and manipulation to achieve his goals. Lillard emphasized that his character is not intimidated by Fisk's power, setting the stage for a compelling power struggle between the two. Unlike Fisk, who is used to dominating through physical and political means, Mr. Charles operates in secrecy, preferring to pull strings from the shadows.

This new dynamic suggests that "Daredevil: Born Again" may delve deeper into political and espionage themes, exploring whether Fisk's traditional methods of control can withstand a more covert and institutional threat. The series, which stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, is set to return to Disney+ on March 24.
