The capital of Iran, Tehran, has been the epicenter of intense airstrikes as the conflict involving the United States and Israel against Iran enters its fourth day. The strikes, which have also targeted numerous other cities across the country, follow the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. The Iranian Red Crescent Society reported that at least 787 people have been killed in these attacks, which have affected a minimum of 131 cities.

Among the targets was the headquarters of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) in Tehran. The Israeli military accused the broadcaster of inciting violence against Israel and advocating for nuclear armament. Despite explosions reported near its headquarters, IRIB stated via Telegram that its operations have not been disrupted.

The streets of Tehran have largely emptied as residents seek shelter from the ongoing bombardments. Explosions have also been reported in Karaj, a city near Tehran, and in Isfahan, located in central Iran. The situation remains tense as Iran continues to retaliate against Israeli targets and US assets in the Gulf region.

In a particularly tragic incident, Iran held a mass funeral for 165 schoolgirls and staff who were killed in an attack on a school in Minab, a city in southern Iran. Iranian authorities have attributed this attack to US-Israeli forces. The loss of life and the scale of destruction have intensified the humanitarian crisis, drawing international attention to the escalating conflict.
